Day 1
DAY ONE: STEPPING OUT OF AUTOPILOT
From 2.30pm Saturday 10th February 2024
Present moment awareness is the foundation upon which we build our wellbeing – learning that our minds are so often caught up in what has been, and what is yet to come, but the ‘now’ holds the space for security and calm.
Objectives:
- Arrive and explore stunning setting of Nordhoek & dip our toes in the sea
- Meet the group and your hosts Andy and Tessa
- Tools for present moment awareness, key practices and intentions.

Day 2
DAY TWO: THE SCIENCE OF STRESS
Understanding our body – our nervous systems, how to breathe, our stress signatures, how pleasant and unpleasant experiences affect us physiologically – and how we can learn to anchor in stormy seas.
Objectives:
- Deepen our own self awareness
- Tools for breathwork, understanding our nervous system, starting a pleasant experience diary
- Discover the Cornish coast - a coastal walk

Day 3
DAY THREE: RESPONDING SKILLFULLY - THE CHOICE IS OURS
‘Thoughts are not facts’. Shifting from reaction to response, understanding circular patterns of thinking, and how to step away from suffering using CBT and mindfulness. Appreciating perspectives and how to ground yourself in times of heightened emotion.
Objectives:
- Getting into the sea – a beginners surf lesson (included)
- Exploring parent/teen dynamics
- Tools for grounding, navigating challenging moments, and growth

Day 4
DAY FOUR: NAVIGATING RELATIONSHIPS
Leading with compassion, shifting from resisting to allowing, facing into our relationships, setting intentions. Coaching towards an authentic life of purpose and pleasure.
Objectives:
- Space for creativity and voice
- Coaching towards a balanced life
- Tools for living with an attitude of kindness and compassion: to ourselves and others

Day 5
DAY FIVE: WHAT MAKES A BALANCED LIFE?
Learning what energizes and depletes us, exploring purpose, leaving with intention
Objectives:
- Exploring a future with purpose and pleasure
- Course reflections and next steps
- Departure after lunch

How can we best help you?
There will be flexibility built into every day: time for you, time to relax, maybe even time for revision (many of the skills being taught will give exam students composure under pressure, as well as the foundations to support themselves in the build up to this important time). We have studies, lounge areas, and stunning scenery. Whatever your personal needs, we will work hard to factor them into each day.
